About the Book
Incarnations: New Edition is a zine of resistance. It offers a perspective of old wounds in Philippine society. These wounds have failed to heal despite the country’s aging history. And now their incarnations have come to haunt us all.
Filipinos, disease and fear and Are Filipinos Shallow? were first published by Rappler. Children and Incarceration: A Question of Sanity and Lost Angels in Shanties: The Hybrid Children of Riverside first appeared in The Philippines Graphic. A Time Span in a Corner of the Global South: A Sketch was first published in The Philosophical Salon. Marius continues to be involved in combative literature and youth writing in the Philippines.
About the Author
Marius D. Carlos, Jr. is an editor, author and translator based in Mabalacat City, Pampanga. He is the Editor-in-Chief of Revolt Magazine, an independent literary review + online magazine in the Philippines and a founding member of Vox Populi PH. He is the author of two books, and has published locally and internationally. His works have appeared in Rappler, Business Mirror, Philippines Graphic, Breaking Asia and the Philosophical Salon.
The cover design was through the digital manipulation of Maria Kristelle C. Jimenez, who also provided the book and page design of the said book.
